The video took 8 weeks to complete.

When conceptualizing this project, I began doing some reference searching and archiving. I had for some time, been thinking of creating a Dungeons and Dragons title sequence in a cinematic style. I was inspired and took references from contemporary D&D title sequences and also fantasy elements along with newspaper clippings, and arcana related elements/weapons and collected scenes of captivating title intros which helped dictate how I would approach some scenes.

Once I had my ideas and plan formulated, I started storyboarding scenes and also 3D modeling assets/environments.

This sequence was the most ambitious scene to execute because emphasizing the importance of the artificer character was crucial. This was accomplished through different variations of elements, compositions and camera movements resting on a broad cinematic traveling shot which emphasized the character’s arcane goggles.

This final character shot was another ambitious scene that turned out to be very grand and successful in terms of visualizing the character’s magic class as a barbarian who’s weapon of choice is the sword.

In every title sequence, every shot is leading up towards the final scene, revealing the title of the show or film. It’s like the opening of red theater curtains, revealing the first step of an adventure. Title sequences are as much part of a full film or television series, it prepares the audience for what will happen and gives them in a subtle level, a summary or emotional visual thesis to a piece of entertainment.
