Poly Kroma 22: A-Stand Designs
About The Event:
Date: January - May 2022
Client: Cal Poly Pomona Gallery
The Poly-Kroma gallery event allows students from the Cal Poly Pomona’s Art Department to demonstrate their artworks and designs. The event allows graduating seniors to showcase their portfolios in a secondary event called Industry Day in which design professionals from different industries come to interview and watch the showcase of design portfolios.
Theme Development:
As part of the Poly-Kroma event team, we had to as a collective, conceptualize the theme of the event which changes with each semester. We each participated in the theme development, pitching our own ideas. Through levels of voting, we all decided on a singular theme, consisting of bright, pop colors, a mixture of geometric and globular shapes, very modern and semi-80s inspired.
Above are two poster and theme renditions I made as style concepts which weren’t the final vote but nevertheless participated in the development.
3D Asset Development:
Programs Used: Illustrator | Rhinoceros 3D
The 3D assets were designed by a separate team who shared it with the rest of the team. We were allowed to change the colors and placement of the 3D assets in any way in order to continue the theme and make it applicable for the different event elements, such as posters. With these 3D assets and 2D assets provided by separate teams, I designed around 10 A-stand posters with four different design compositions and event dates.
