The Basquiat Model - Helmet
About:
The Basquiat Model is an artisan designed polycarbonate fiber motorcycle helmet. The helmet design is inspired by the artwork of 80s Neoexpressionist artist Jean Michel Basquiat. The model is adorned with Basquiat elements such as the placement of multiple square teeth, and spikes. The globular and skeletal head form safely cocoons the motorcyclists head from any disturbance, while experimental placement of Basquiat linework creates an overall artistic aesthetic different from any other helmet in the market.
References:
In the initial process for this helmet product development, I collected refences of Jean-Michel Basquiat’s artwork. Specifically, any artwork that had head anatomy since it would become a guide to the helmet’s aesthetic and modular style.
